Plant Description

Blue Rush or Juncus is an attractive, blue-green ornamental grass that grows 18-24 inches tall in moist soil or up to three inches of water above the soil. Blue Rush looks great when planted in containers and placed in the pond or in bog areas, marshes or wetlands. Great for bog filters or as a fish / frog protector or erosion control at the edge of any pond! Very winter hardy.  

Height   Grows 15-20 inches feet tall

Width   Spreads 14 inches 20 inches wide

Sunlight Requirements  Prefers full sun but will tolerate shade

Moisture Requirements  Moist soil or wet with up to 3 inches of water above the roots

Bloom  Blooms in late spring or early summer with very small reddish-brown flowers

Fertilize Fertilize aquatic pond plants June through August, with Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates

Zone  Hardy in zones 4 - 11

 

Planting Instructions

Plant your Blue Rush in moist boggy soil or with up to 3 inches of water above the roots in the pond. Looks great when planted in large tubs or containers and placed in the pond. Blue Rush thrives in full sun but will tolerate part shade.
