Watercress is an edible plant, either by the dark, leafy greens or by edible sprouts. Also considered a perennial herb. Watercress is considered the healthiest, green leafy vegetable on the planet. It is an aquatic or semi-aquatic plant that grows in shallow water or moist soil. May grow to 1 1/2 to 3' tall and produces small, green and white flowers. Once the plant produces flowers, the leaf becomes bitter. Great for softening your creek, streambeds, and pond edges from that pile of rocks look! A rapidly growing plant, grows well in full-part sun and shallow water at the roots.
Plant Watercress in loamy soil, in shallow water (2-4" of water over the roots) in full sun to part shade.
