Mare's Tail is an aquatic herb once used for medicinal purposes. It has a creeping habitat and whorls of green leaves grow upright on stems, out of the water, the roots creep in the mud in shallow water. Gives nice vertical interest and adds a textural element when planted on a shelf at the edge of your pond. It does bloom in the summer months but the blooms are insignificant.
Grows well in full sun to part shade.Plant in heavy loam soil in small pot or fabric planting bags and place in shallow water with a few inches over top of pot.
